Major Description

This course has been designed to prepare students to become Christian counselors. The word “psycho” comes from the Greek term “psyche” which means soul. Therefore, psychology means the study of the soul of man. What, from a Christian worldview, is better at solving a person’s soul problems than the Word of God; therefore, we teach that all counseling should be based on biblical principles. Modern psychology is based upon the religion of “humanism” and man’s capability to solve the problems of the soul, whereas biblical counseling is based strictly on biblical principles. Biblical counseling accepts the premise that the Bible is God’s Word and counseling is a biblical method of problem-solving.

Because of the unique nature of this program, some of the courses are assigned out of their normal sequence.
