This is a course on the characteristics of progressive thought and the role of progressives in the development of the liberal political tradition. The student will read documents, essays, speeches and articles by the leading progressives from the time of Woodrow Wilson to Franklin Delano Roosevelt which will show the roots of modern liberalism.
